allowing the adrenaline to take over, the JGr auto trader rider took to the track in dependable form. nicoletti didn’t find the speed needed to log a fast lap n practice that would allow him a great gate pick for the heat. now a step behind phil put his head down and rode to a strong ninth place in the heat race. this result didn’t let him advance into the main, but it allowed him a better gate pick for the semi. lined up with a better view of the first turn, the #34 took advantage of a great start and made key passes to go on to win the semi. winning any race gives a rider the a little bit of
confidence needed to build upon.
Feeling the semi win confidence, Nicoletti ripped off a great start to show that he has the skill to run up front. Phil was running in fourth place by the third lap and looking strong. The night started to unravel after this
point for the JGR Yamaha rider. He was passed quickly by Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson and BTO Sports KTM Davi Millsaps dropping him to sixth. At this point in the race Phil was showing signs of his last race injuries and looked uncomfortable on the track. Never one to give up the #34 battled on until he tucked the front end in a corner and let a majority of the field get by. This was a great effort that unfortunately did not turn out in Phil’s favor for the night. He ended up listed as 21st for the night.
