Walther grabbed another 2nd place start and rode steadily in that position until the final lap when he found himself in a battle with Masterpool who was battling back from an average start. The JGR rider put in the fastest lap of the race on the penultimate lap, tracking down Walther on the last lap in order to steal the 2nd place finish and secure the overall victory.
