The Colorado native of McCarty took advantage of Yates’ mistake in order to move into 2nd position on the same lap. He rode a steady pace throughout the entire race to stay ahead of Parker Larson, but the afore- mentioned Yates stole the position right before the checkered flag. Yates put his Suzuki into 2nd position yet again at the start of the second moto, but this time he was able to work his way past Noah Jandebeur on the opening lap and take the 1st place position. Yates put in convincing lap times from the front of the field in order to bring the #23 machine home to the top step of the podium.
