Adams worked his way up one position from a 4th place start in order to grab the last spot on the podium, as Roberts was forced to settle for 4th after a mistake late in the race forced him out of podium contention. Yates left himself with a little less work to complete in the second moto as he charged out of the first corner in 3rd position; he had worked his way up to 1st position past Stinebaugh by the 3rd lap, setting the fastest lap time while doing so.
