Thomas worked his way up through the podium positions past Hummel and Johnson, setting the fast- est time of the race on the final lap, proving his consistent pace throughout full race distance. Johnson worked his way past Hummel on the 2nd lap, but he ended up giving the position back to Thomas on the very next lap, latching onto the rear fender of the New Englander as best he could, bringing his Cobra home in 3rd position as well as 3rd overall on the weekend.
