The Missourian of Lambert pulled the holeshot and led the final race from start to finish, eventually crossing the stripe 7.4 seconds ahead of LaFond. The rider out of Topeka, Kansas battled in the middle of the race with Bryan Jackson as the two of them pushed one another to the limit. Jackson set the fastest lap of the race on the second lap as he was able to keep himself in front of LaFond, but that only lasted until the fourth lap when LaFond made his way around the Honda rider and secured his 2nd place overall.
