The Oklahoma native was able to clock consistent lap times at the front of the field and lead the moto from the gate drop to the checkered flag, securing the overall in the process. Alves had a horrendous start, coming across the finish line
in 11th place on the opening lap; he was able to work his way up to 3rd position by lap five, setting the fastest lap of the race in the process. The Florida native was able to pass Thurman for 2nd position on the final lap of the moto, relegating the Husqvarna rider to 3rd. Blake Neiheiser worked his way up from 7th position all the way into a solid 4th place finish, securing the final spot on the overall podium.
