The EBR Yamaha rider slowly chipped away at the gap that Albertson built up over the first lap, taking a couple tenths here and a couple of tenths there. On the 6th lap, Alves was able to make up almost a full second and work his way past the Suzuki of Albertson, eventually riding away at the front of the field and winning the race by 4.4 seconds. Richard Jackson and Blake Neiheiser started just one position behind their finishing result, Jackson riding to a comfortable 3rd place and Neiheiser 10 seconds behind him in 4th. Albertson ripped another holeshot in the second moto ahead of Curren Thurman and Mccoy Brough.
