COOPER WEBB

>>
The lean and mean defending west coast champion of Cooper Webb knows all about the pressures of being a points leader, but with a recent injury to his wrist, the final round proves to be a bit more
interesting than what was expected. Looking at how the year has gone thus far
for Cooper, he has won all but three rounds and has only finished outside the top two once,
at round four in Oakland where he finished 21st due to a mechanical malfunction. Despite the dismal race, it’s a pretty solid track history if you think about the level of modern day racing. He’s come from behind, he’s crashed and recovered, he’s done everything he needs to in order to keep the hopes of duplicating his trophy case alive each and every round, which led up to this past weekend in Las Vegas. Having a full boat of east coast contenders to rain on his parade, Webb hoped to battle through the pain of the mysterious wrist injury and on to a rare list of supercross champions. On Saturday, with the bright lights of Vegas illuminating the night, while the air lingered thick, Webb faced an opportunity of a repeat championship in the high stakes environment of Sam Boyd Stadium.
