Devastating end to the season for Weston Peick. Not only did the Auto Trader, Monster Energy, JGR
Yamaha rider miss his third main event of the season but he also lost his top 10 overall in the series. Mike Alessi, Justin Bogle, and Jake Weimer all took advantage of Westons misfortunes and all gained point series positions. The #28 qualified well off of the pace in timed sessions and seemed to struggle all night in Vegas. Weston started well inside of the top 10 in his heat race but just seemed
to be stuck in 7th all moto. In 450 semi #2 Peick came out for redemption and pulled the holeshot.
The JGR rider was doubling a triple jump and overshot the landing forcing him to loose control and the lead. Weston then began
a battle with Cole Seely for fourth with two laps to go. Seely went down in the whoops and handed Weston 4th. Canard and Peick decided to dice it out on the very technical track while both in a qualifying position. Weston got the short end of the stick and dropped back to 13th by the finish. After nearly qualifying in his heat race and semi Weston was a fan favourite to win the LCQ. Weston came around lap one in 14th position and then pulled off the track and was scored 20th with a DNS. This has been a hard year for the JGR rider and hopefully switching it up to nationals is just what Weston needs to get the ball rolling again.
