>> Professional racers always make it clear that racing at that level isn’t as easy as it may seem. They pride themselves in their dedi- cation and hard work ethic and usually state that it is like a regular job with the hours they put in. Then you look at the young Josh Cartwright who is currently enrolled in University, taking a degree
in Information Technologies. The young rider actually had an exam Friday afternoon before he had to catch his flight to St. Louis. One benefit for Josh is that his schooling is in Florida and while in school he is able to train at Ricky Carmichaels Farm. This has been a huge asset to Josh’s career as he gets to train with some of the best mo- tocross/supercross riders out there. Cartwright made 3 main events in 2016 and already has 5 to his credit thus far in the 2017 season. The privateer has been near the 7th-10th place position in his heat races for most of the year and he was put in that position once again at round 7 of the East Coast series. Cartwright started 8th, moved back to 12th after the first lap, and then moved up to 10th. Josh got into a battle with Short, and Miller for the final transfer from the heat. Cartwright was able to capitalize on fallen riders and come away with 8th, keeping himself out of the LCQ. @jcartwright519_93 ‘s main goal is to make as many main events as possible hoping that his time presence will get him noticed for potential sponsors. Once schooling is done Josh’s plan is to make his way to California to pursue his dream or being a professional at a much higher level.
