Accustomed to the Golden State soil, cole came into to the california classic ready, willing, and
able to claim as many titles as possible. The preparation had been done, his mind was swiped clean
of any doubts, and he was ready to assert himself as the alpha male of his division.
The 250 C Jr (12-16) division was one in which Tompkins encountered a little trouble in the first moto. After a start he’d rather forget,
the number 133 bobbled in a corner, deterring his quest to the front of the field. After remounting, he began to ever so slightly pick
his competitors off, residing in sixth place as the checkered flag flew. Moto number two saw him come across timing and scoring in
third place on the opening lap, chasing down rival, Max Lee. The two began to duke it out, zig zagging and sling shotting one another,
fender to fender around the treacherous course. Ultimately Tompkins would take the win, just a nose in front of the number 50. The

final moto saw Tompkins yet again come from behind Max Lee to take the win, and set the fastest lap time in the process. Although a
remarkable effort, he would come just short of the title.
