Taking runner up to first moto winner Kyle Drinnon after an eighth place start, he knew he had the speed to claim top honors if he could fit all the pieces together. His aspirations came to fruition in the final
motos, as two more gold medals contributed to his ever-growing collection.
Open C, more like open sesame to Tompkins, as he was granted access and the door to winning was lifted without hesita- tion. The Honda pilot obliterated the field in every fashion, setting the best times, and leading every lap in the process. The perfect trio of 1’s would have him gleaming as though he hit the lottery, delighted with satisfaction from his weekends work.
