Derek Drake has a big stack of titles he’s fought hard for, gaining a lot of them while riding for Troy Lee Designs / GoPro / Red Bull KTM Factory Jr. Team. Now off the Supermini for good, he is able to focus on racing just his 125 and not have to hop between the two bikes. He had plans on racing Texas this year, but suffered from an unfortunate practice crash right before the big race and broke the tip of his collarbone, a small separation in his shoul- der and pinched his sciatic nerve, forcing him on to the sidelines to heal up. With the crash only happening just a few short weeks ago, the california classic was his first race back and who knew he was even hurt with how fast he was going!
