>> When the weeks and weekend ‘s weather forecast came out early this week it was pretty much a guaranteed mud race. The type of race that in a lot of cases allows for a new face to take a win or slip up onto the podium, but Eli Tomac wasn’t interested in letting that happen by taking a win on what was unarguably the most brutal track we have seen in all of 2018. For Tomac the day started alright given the conditions. With qualifying being cut down to one session due to the extreme conditions to get through clean with a fth place qualifying time was the rst success on a long mud lled day of racing. After
a third place start in Heat Two it looked like Eli would be cruising to a second place nish, but do to aggressive riding by Anderson which caused him to fall Eli inherited the lead on lap two and cruised to see the checkered ag rst. Eli’s Main Event would mirror his Heat Race in Seattle. Rounding the rst turn third and crawling through what you could hardly call a racetrack anymore he was able to move past Marvin Musquin on lap three. From there he settled in and clicked off the three consistent laps to be in striking distance when Jason Anderson would tip over at the end of a rhythm lane on lap six. From there Anderson tried to come back, but Eli who seems to be getting more and more mentally tough as we near the seasons end had no intentions of letting another win get away. Tomac’s not going to be the 2018 Supercross Champ, but he’s proved once again, regardless of conditions, he can and will win.
