KILPATRICK
125 (12-16) B/C
There aren’t too many people around the world, who can’t be enthusiastic about the holidays. The idea of giving and receiving joy, around family and friends, makes many cherish these times every calendar year. Wishing, far and wide, for a gift to be under the tree or received, is that of a constant theme engrained in society. While many things that are tangible, there are those in the motocross world, who just simply want to be known as the best. That, for certain, would be the ultimate present for a racer at heart. To say you are the top competitor in
your division, beating everyone else you lined up against, is something that every athlete lusts for. And with the holidays right around the corner, what present better to wish for, than
a championship at the Mini O’s? Maryland’s Jarrett Frye couldn’t agree more. As all the working and wishing could be summarized in his performance in the 125 (12-16) B/C class, anything less would be treason. Gage Linville started the festivities’ off in the first heat, as he would holeshot the likes of Carter Biese and Ty Masterppol. Linville, a household name on the minibikes, came into this moto willing to add
a bit of resurgence to his name. Each lap, the momentum from his childhood seemed to come to life, as the confidence was gleaming through his goggles. Linville, would go on to lead every lap, with Carter Biese holding down the second position, but Masterpool in third, setting the quickest time of the moto. For division two, it was Ethan “The” Mann doing work on the rest of the field, pulling from Cullin Park in the early going, and then housing his gap with a bit of fluff and style over the bigger jumps on the circuit. Orion Gregory, third, would try his best and lunge at Park, who remained in second,
but it wasn’t in the cards. The final reading, would be as follows: Mann, Park, and Gregory. Jarrett Frye would be in a league of his own, in the third division. As a holeshot would put him 11 seconds by the completion of lap number two, as he would then try out different lines, in preparation for the main event. It was a pretty relaxing ride for the number 34, with Cole Brad- ford and Bryce Hansen riding strong in second and third respectively. Once all were ready, they then boarded the gate for the main event. Frye, feathered the clutch off the line perfectly, keep- ing the front end from getting too high. He then launched into the Gator Pit, with 39 other killers, trailing, vying for his position. Frye, never once scared, pushed forward, while Ty Masterpool was the man on the move. But Frye had done too hefty of work, prior to Masterpool’s late race charge. The time was over, and Frye had swept the field with spectacular 1-1 finishes, claiming the title.
