KILPATRICK
When you reach the 30, the selfish years of your 20’s seemed to have flow by. It was just yesterday that you dabbled into the over 25 class, and now, you’re no longer the “youngest” of the vet classes. Just moving on up, as the joints are getting stiffer, that metabolism’s slowing down, and the idea of hanging on the couch is sounding more pleasurable
than a night on the town. Ahh to be young again...the balance of juggling racing along with a full-time job is now the reality. To have fun, and to provide
an income, are too delicate tasks to your inner being, yet in some cases, you now have others depending on you. But, you still have to let loose every once in a while, and many on the gate for this 30+ class, signed up for that particular notion. Painter was all smiles heading into turn one of the first moto, as his Kawasaki ab- solutely dug into the Florida soil, his front end wanting to race with all the power beneath the hood. Mistake free laps was the pre-race memo, and he held solid to it. With Greg Pamart slipping from the second position in the early going, it was now Ben Robinson who had moved to into his rearview mirror. Never looking back, Painter never saw who it exactly was, as his focus was entirely forward. The final tally sheet would read Taylor Painter, Ben Robinson, and Justin Kelly, who would actually set the fastest lap of the moto. For the second round of action, it was Greg Pamart looking to steal the show aboard his number 44 Kawasaki. Pamart, riding ultra-solid in the front of the field, held true to his winning ways, although the pressure from Painter was mounting. His reckless, Texan style pur- sued Pamart until the bitter end, eventu- ally resulting in a devastating mistake from the Pennsylvania native. Painter, would then take over reigns of the division, whipping the chains back and forth, as his Kawsaki stallion slowly crept away from Justin Kelly. Kelly, a mere
two seconds back, was giving Painter all the pressure he wanted. To be care-
ful, Painter held the inside paths a little tighter on the last lap, knowing that Kelly could sneak in at any moment. However when he had crossed the line, he knew his 1-1 score couldn’t be beaten, and was all smiles knowing that he’d locked down a championship.
