Luke Fineis got off to a spectacular start, behind Owensboro, Kentucky’s Dakota Mckay. Mckay would hold the lead, un- til a surge of Fineis, Jeff Chambers and Bailey Breen made their way around. That was all Fin- eis would need, never giving in to the presser from Chambers, taking the victory and optimum gate choice for the finale. Once the two par- ties united in the main event, it was time to see who truly could put it to this course. The gate would fall, and around the initial sweeper, down into the first drop off, the field would hit the follow- ing step up in unison. It was Matt Kretzler who took the role of lead an- chor in the production of the 450 C Limited class. Although a solid pace early, it wasn’t enough to hold back the number 41 of Stockton Stinebaugh. The Texas native had been preparing for this event for quite some- time, riding the tracks at his training facility when they are rough, and blue grooved. He excelled once the track got dusty, pulling little by little from Kade Jackson. Jackson, after his spectacular qualifiying ride, knew
if he could stay solid
in this particular posi- tion, he would claim the title. And that’s exactly what he did, sticking to the script, and keeping the number 53 of Matt Kretzler at bay. Stine- baugh would win, but Jackson would receive the curtain call. The title was his for the taking.
