He then was handling a tremendous amount of pressure from teammate, Seely. On lap three, Seely
was able to make the pass on him and unfortunately, Roczen got by Trey as well. It seemed that he was exhausted from the rush of leading the first lap of a moto, which he had not done in over two years. Trey pulled himself together and started to put down some clean laps. Unexpectedly, he quickly fell into
the clutches of a hard charging Tomac, who got by him shortly after that. Trey was now sitting 4th, which he held down for most of the moto until Dungey started to show him a wheel. Dungey was able to make an extraordinary move where he carried
a little bit more momentum out of a corner and was able to make the pass. Trey continued to fight but it seemed he was ready for the high altitude day to be over. Unfortunately, Musquin would also eventually slip by him. Canard would finish the day off with a 3rd and a 6th for his third straight 5th overall this season.
