As the series heads to Lakewood, Colorado for round three of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross cham- pionship, Mitchell Oldenburg hopes to to get his Troy Lee Design KTM inside the top ten. The day started out promising as Oldenburg qualified 7th overall in practice and proved he has the speed
to run with the best in the class. A poor start in the first 250 moto left Oldenburg eating roost for 30 min plus 2 laps and having to battle passed riders while avoiding any major mistakes. When the checkered flag flew the #42 earned a come from behind 8th place finish. This has to leave Mitchell and his team wondering where he can finish with a good start. As the gate dropped for 250 moto two Oldenburg made a big mistake and caused a massive crash on the start straight. Slow to get up, Mitchell would shake it off and rebound in last place. Showing grit for not pulling off, Mitchell started plugging away and passed almost half the field. The Troy Lee Design KTM rider would come up just shy on scoring points, finishing 25th in moto two. With the combined moto scores of 9-25, Mitchell Oldenburg leaves Colorado with a 16th overall.
