Thunder Valley got the best of the #13 Factory KTM rider of Jessy Nelson as he had scored his worst results of the season thus far. Nelson started the weekend alright, qualifying inside the top ten with a 2:12.391. After a podium finish just a week before at Glen Helen, Nelson was looking to keep the ball rolling and be up inside the top 5 week in and week out. Results may not have been the best this weekend but Nelson was logging lap times that should have had him well inside of the top ten, and if it weren’t for some bad luck Jessy could have scored a top ten overall. An unchar- acteristic bad start in moto one left the KTM rider playing catch up, and was 15 seconds behind
the leader with only 5 minutes into the race. Nelson was on a charge and came from outside of the top 20 to 12th in just 12 minutes. For the rest of the race Nelson was either battling with the super rutted track or riders like Nichols, Peters, McElrath, and more. Trading positions back and forward moving from 12th to 15th several times before settling for a 14th place finish. The final 250 race on the day started out much better for Nelson, crossing the finish line just outside of the top ten after lap 1. Twelve minutes plus two laps remaining and Nelson was inside the top 10 and following Cooper Webb around the track. Jessy would have more bad luck and finish 34th. No word on Nelson yet, hopefully no injury and was just bike issues, stay in touch with him online @JESSYNEL- SON13 for more information.
