It was another solid effort for Colt Nichols and the Rock River Yamaha team at round 3 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, as Colt logs in another two consistent top 15’s at Thunder Valley. The #69 rider qualified 11th with 2:12.985 and was searching for his first top ten of the season. At the first race of the day Nichols started just outside of the top 10 in 11th but just could not run the pace with the usual front runners. Throughout the whole race Colt fought hard with some heavy competition and came away with a 15th. The result for race number two may not have been the best but Colt put in one heck of a ride coming from 26th and nearly 25 seconds down all the way to 13th. Fitness is not the issue and the best has yet to come for this Nichols. Best of luck at High Point.
