ALEX MARTIN
It almost seems like an element of destiny seeing the #26 of Alex Martin holding the red plate as the boys come into Colorado country for stop three of the outdoor season. With brother Jeremy now being a two-time and defending outdoor champion, Alex has lived in shadows so closely that they bear the same last name. Interestingly enough, though, Alex has been on the incline over the past
several seasons. Actually, dating back to 2013, Alex finished the series in 19th. A year later, in 2014, the older Martin brother placed 12th, a seven spot upgrade. Then last year, continuing through the stages of progression, Alex finished 7th behind six of the fastest riders the class has to offer. Going even further, five of those six riders still race in the 250 class and are currently looking at the back of Martin who has displayed a purely unbreakable pace through the first two rounds to this point. Like clockwork, Alex picked off positions each year by putting in the work, showing up on race day and using the throttle to inch his way to 2016. We may only be four moto’s deep but this summer is going to be full of weekend warfare with an assault by the Martin brothers being imminent. It’s too early to tell which one will come out on top but Alex held the upper hand once round three started and the Thunder Valley gates were dropped.
