JEREMY MARTIN
It hasn’t been a season full of champagne and on-air interviews for the, now, two-time defending champion, Jeremy Martin. Things for #1 Star Racing Yamaha have been bleak thus far with a black background through five rounds. Yet to win, it hasn’t been a result of the lack of effort as J-Mart continues to charge towards the front
of the pack. In fact, the outdoor specialist has been able to avoid finishing outside the top ten but has failed to reach the top step of the podium. Coming out of High Point, the Star Racing squad was looking for answers as both Martin brothers were hampered with mechani- cal difficulties, Jeremy finishing with a season worst 9th overall, but bounced back last weekend in Tennessee with a 5th overall. Even with the positive finish, Jeremy still searches for the championship recipe he seemed to know by heart as Savatgy and Webb battle for the points lead, some thirty points ahead. Coming to Red Bud for round six, finding the early lead and putting in laps has to be the objective. Martin has struggled to show face early in the moto and, while the season gets deeper, desperately needs to get near the front early to make a push for the championship.
