J-Mart started off the morning qualifying in a distant 7th, over a full second off the top spot, but came out swinging with the rest of the Star Racing Yamaha team in moto one. Filling out the top five spots, with the exception of Forkner and Savatgy in 2nd and 3rd, the entire team rode strong early, while Jeremy held down 4th before dropping outside of the top five when the riders finished lap one. Getting by teammates Mitchell Harrison and Aaron Plessenger in the next few laps, Martin was then able to settle into 4th behind the top
three riders duking it out up front. Eventually, J-Mart had gained some ground on the fading rookie Phenom of Forkner and began to apply pressure at the halfway point of the moto. Before long, it turned into a three-way battle as Jeremy’s brother, Alex, joined the party to make it an all-moto fiesta. After putting too much pressure on the #214, J-Mart gets by for 3rd. Drawing the short stick of the deal, though, Alex muscled his way by his brother, pushing Jeremy to 4th, where the Yamaha team would bring it home, locking up three of the top four spots. Looking of the same luck in moto two, Jeremy started in a similar spot, crossing lap one in 7th place. Per usual, the defending champ gets by Savatgy, Davalos and Gaines to reach 4th in the early stages. Latching onto Cooper Webb in front of him, Martin gets by McElrath quickly thereafter for 3rd and the Yamaha’s, again, began to check off the laps. With his brother in 1st, J-Mart somehow made his way by moto one winner Cooper Webb to put in work reeling in his brother. Getting within a few bike lengths after the 15-minute mark of the moto, Jeremy came into a 180-degree turn too hot and laid it down.
