Super disappointing weekend for Joey Savatgy at round 6 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championships as he left RedBud without the red plate and is now 16 points behind Cooper Webb in the points standings. Joey had a great first race and almost caught his rival Webb at the tail end of the moto but had to settle for 2nd. With his heart and soul poured into his racing regimen Savatgy was determined to get that race win in moto 2 and came out flying taking the early lead in the second corner. Im not sure if its the nerves that are getting to Savatgy or what, but Joey has been struggling as of lately in the series and threw away his lead with a tip over on a tight inside corner pushing him back to 6th. Later Joey was on the move to get back inside the top 5 by Mcelrath and over jumped the step down and crashed hard, leaving him winded and back near the 20th place position. With his bike banged up Joey made a smart decision to go to the pits to get his handle bars back into position so he could find his groove, trying to salvage desperately needed points. The Pro Circuit Kawasaki team got him back on the track and Joey pushed hard to get inside the top 20 and scored 16th by the checkers. It will be a long week at the Carmichael farm for Joey as he needs to limit his mistakes and find his consistency once again.
