A veteran of the Pro-Am division, teams know what they are going to get with the Yamaha rider, a solid, respectable finish, always near the front; and the MEC was no different. A start within the top ten allowed him to display his creativity, having to display craftiness in order to climb to the front of the field. His usual, elbows up, picture-esque style was in full effect, blowing by the competition all the way remaining fresh for the cameras. His efforts would be rewarded with a fifth place finish, and something to build off for moto two.
