CHAD REED
Chad Reed is changing the sport of supercross. Majorly known as a short lived sport, Reed has raced through the McGrath, Carmichael, Stewart, and Villopoto eras and still doesn’t seem to be retiring anytime soon. Typically, the grueling track conditions and the beating your body takes over the years leaves riders calling it quits after roughly 7-10 years. After fourteen years of professional racing, Chad Reed is still out there and still very competitive. The gritty Australian has returned to the Factory Yamaha team and looks like he is at home. We saw the effect the Yamaha had on him last year as he had a better year than the previous few years. Focusing solely on his racing with no concerns of running a race team anymore, Reed looks ready to battle in the front of the pack. From a fans perspective it is heart breaking when a champion retires. Hopefully Chad Reed has an impact on the upcoming rising stars and persuades them to stick around a few years longer.
