A long journey to the top of the stadium for riders and mechanics as the 2016 Monster Energy Cup has a starting line like we have never seen before. Ready to launch into the stadium at a 33-degree decline, Vince Friese drops in for Main Event #1. Coming down the 470 foot start straight around 17th place, Friese had his work cut out for him. Choosing to take the Joker lane on lap one turned out to be a fantastic decision
as it would work in his favor late in the race. Dodging the hard pack Las Vegas roost throughout the race, Vince made a handful of passes and finished the race 11th after a handful of riders had to take the Joker Lane on the last lap. A better start in race 2 placed Friese around 10th place early. Holding his own in the heat of battle, Friese decided to stay focused and wait until the very last lap to take the Joker Lane. A few mistakes pushed him back to a 12th place finish in Main event two. The riders have one last chance to make an impression on the competion as the gate drops for Main Event number three. Friese would have his best race of the night as he started inside the top ten and stayed there all throughout the ten lap race. When the checkers flew Vince crossed the line in 8th place and would finish 10th overall with 11-12-8 moto scores.
