IMAGE / KILPATRICK WORDS / ARMSTRONG DESIGN / MOTOPLAYGROUND
>> Sean Cantrell started his day off great qualifying 6th overall with a 51.244. Sixth isn’t necessarily the best qualifying result but for Cantrell is is one of his better results as he seems to do better in the races then he does as putting down one individual fast lap.
The Supercross rookie started in 9th position with tons of top riders ahead of him. Sean worked hard to get his Red Bull TLD KTM into 5th on the opening lap. Around the mid way point of the race Sean was working on making his way around Thomas Ramette for 4th, while he was trying to make the pass he got blind sided by Osborne and was shuf ed to 6th. Sean regained his composure and followed Osborne around the track. This strat- egy worked awlessly as he was able to make his way around Ramette in the same sec- tion as Zach. Sean went on to nish 5th, tying his best nish of the year. After the opening lap in the second main even Cantrell was near the top of the eld holding down the nal podium position. Sean was moved back to 4th by Martin on lap two. Going into the nal race of the night Sean was in position the have his career best night as he was sitting in 4th overall with just one 12 minute main event stood in his way. Cantrell came around the holeshot line in 7th. In just a few laps Sean made his way around Rodriguez for 6th and then got himself around fellow rookie Josh Osby for 5th. This left Sean with 5-4-5 moto nishes totaling up to be 14 points. He was double the points away from 3rd but had 9 points advantage on 5th. @sean_cantrell is currently 7th in points and is having the best rookie season so far in the East Coast division.
