The speedy B class rider of Dylan Walsh showed up at Freestone to compete in three classes, 250 B Limited, 250 B, and 450 B Limited. Aboard his KTM the #53 put in great rides and finished 3rd, 5th, and 2nd overall in his classes. Dylan put up a good fight all weekend and was right there with the heavy hitters of the class, such as Max Markolf, Mitchell Falk, Jordan Bailey, Jake Masterpool and more.
The healthy populated 250 B Limited class was put into heat races and lcq’s to qualify for the main. Walsh was placed into the second heat race. Rounding out the first lap in the top five, Walsh didn’t waste anytime getting himself to the number two spot by lap 3. Walsh would have to settle for 2nd as he couldn’t catch Markolf. After qualifying easily out of his heat, it was time for the #53 to get ready for the main. Dylan got off to a great start, finishing the first lap just behind front runner, Mitchell Falk. Walsh was in a great spot to win the title if Falk made a mistake but unfortunately he was unable to keep pace and dropped back to 4th by Masterpool and Autenreith on lap 3 where he would finish.
Yet again the KTM rider of Walsh was put into heat number two for the 250 B class. Walsh jumped out to an early lead in his heat race and lead for the first half of the moto until Jordan Bailey took over. The race was not over yet as Ashton Dickinson was on the move to the front and made a late moto push for the number two position. Walsh withstood the pressure from Dickinson and put himself in a good spot for the title. Dylan was looking for a championship and with the great starts he has been having all week, and a little luck he could have done it. He did get off to a great start and was trailing Falk once again. Things started to happen quickly for Walsh in the second half of the moto where his lap times quickly slowed down and so did his position. Dylan was able to hold on to 6th and finished 5th overall in the 250 B class. Although Walsh seemed to get better starts on his 250, he made the 450 work to his advantage out on the track, scoring his best overall of the week with a 2nd in 450 B Limited. Disaster struck Walsh in his first 450 race as he made a mistake while leading and dropped back to sixth position on lap 3 with a lap time near 10 seconds slower than his competitors. Walsh managed to get into the top five and finished 5th. With an average 5th place start Walsh started to slice his way to the front, getting around Fleming, Hooten and Heppner early. Nobody was able to keep pace with the Champion of the class, Jake Masterpool, but Walsh did keep him honest.
