Luke had a solid start to his week in Freestone. His bikes ran well, he kept it on 2 wheels, and was able to find fast lines. After practice, Luke was surprised to see his results were all around 15th place. He knew something was wrong and figured out in his last practice that you can’t wait for ev- erybody else to go, you have to charge from the beginning. He qualified 4th and went into the motos
with confidence. The motos did not start the way he wanted. In 250 C Limited, he got off to a 20th place start and was only able to climb up to 11th. The second moto was similar and he came away with a 12th overall in the class. In 250 C, Luke got a good jump in the first moto, and was running top 5 until his front end washed out. He got up and was in dead last, he knew he had to put the hammer down. He was able to pass many riders and by the end was sitting in 12th place. The second moto went a little bit better for him as he was able to climb up to 9th place. He finished 10th overall in 250 C. Luke struggled with starts all week on his 250 and did everything he could to fix it. In the first moto of 450 C Jr., Luke got a much better start and was able to hold on to 4th. He had the starts figured out by the second moto and almost got the holeshot, but clicked neutral and almost missed the corner. He was able to click it into gear and maintain the lead. He battled to maintain the lead all moto but eventually would have to settle for 2nd. He finished 2nd overall in this class. 450 C is where Luke shined. He came out with a top 5 start and was able to make his way into the lead by lap 4. He was able
to hold off 2nd place and win the moto. In the second moto, Luke got a great start and held on for 2nd place all the way to the end and was able to clinch a championship in 450 C at Freestone.
