Racing three classes in Wortham, Texas Samantha put to work taking on the 250 C class as well as the woman’s classes she is specializing in. Collegegirl (16-24) was where @SMANDELKE63 put her
training to work and rode hard in each moto. Mandelke was in 10th place by lap one in the first moto and that was not where she wanted to be at all, so she put her head down and started making passes all the way up to 3rd by the race’s end. The highlight of the week was in moto two where she led every lap from the 1st to the 6th. This was the performance that Samantha has been working toward at one of these Major amateur nationals. She was able to hold up the #1 plate for this class because she took home the championship convincingly. Woman (14+) amateur was a little tougher as she would go from 5th to 6th place in the first moto as the opening laps went down. Samantha regrouped to make it back up to 4th place as the checkers flew. The second moto proved not to be easy as well, since she started off in 7th place. Seventh place is not the result that gets you a championship so she rode hard and trusted her training to make it up to 3rd place and a second overall in the class. Mandelke took on the guys in the 250 C class and she definitely held her own in a class that allows any age to compete. Making a handful of passes in each moto let the #63 work up a 21st overall to close out a great week in Texas. Samantha is making improvements every weekend, because she is willing to put in the work during the week.
