With more horsepower and better handling, the KX 85 is a big step up from the KX 65 and Romano proved in the Texas heat that it suits him well. The 85cc (9-11) Limited class is filled with the future
stars of tomorrow, so Nick knew that was right where he belonged. In the heat race, he logged a solid 3rd place lap one and continued to log consistent laps all the way through to the checkered flag. After solidifying his rightful spot for the competitive class, all eyes were on Nick to perform how he knows how to. In moto two, Romano blasted off the starting line to find himself in 3rd place on lap one in a stacked field of racers. Knowing he had the speed @NICKROMANO411 used excellent race craft to work his way into 2nd place by the end of the race. A 2nd place overall was a great showing to prove to himself and his supporters that he was one of the powerhouse amateurs in Texas. Moving to the 85cc (9-12) class, Romano had a great race, logging a 4th place after an intense battle in moto one. Moto two wasn’t as kind to Nick as moto one was, as he did not get a great start, but in standard form he used his training and desire to make passes. Romano fought hard all race long to make it up to 13th place by the checkered flag. Combined with a 4th place finish in race one, Nick logged 11 overall. This was a great weekend for Nick and all his sponsors to showcase his skills on the bigger bike.
