The Yamalube Star Racing rider wanted to prove that his success in the sands of Daytona was
no fluke, and that he did, by catapulting with the great start in heat one, and inheriting the lead
by the second turn. After taking the green out front, Martin would make a mistake prior to the first whoop section and relin- quish the reign to Tyler Bowers. He would hold steady however, even mounting a late race surge, putting his rev limiter in Bowers
ears, but it was too little too late; he would take second to the main.
