When the gate dropped in the main event no rider in the field wanted to give
an inch. Bumping elbows down the start straight caused a huge domino effect type crash in the first turn. This caused a ton of riders to collide, including Star Racing Yamaha teammates Jeremy Martin and Aaron Plessinger. Slow to get up after already being hurt from his heat race crash, Aaron eventually got moving and worked his way back to 12th place overall.
