Cunningham had a decent morning in Canada, qualifying 18th going into the night program. 450 Heat 1 did not go the way Kyle would have hoped. He had a terrible start and was able to climb up to 12th, but it wasn’t enough, he would go to the Semi. This was probably beneficial for Kyle
as more track time is sometimes helpful, especially on the difficult Toronto race track. Kyle lined up for the Semi, determined to go to the Main. Unfortunately another terrible start was the story for Cunningham in the Semi. By lap 3, he made his way into a battle for 6th, where he would eventually take the position. Unfortunately, 6th place isn’t enough and he would go to the LCQ. Cunningham would pull a commanding holeshot in the LCQ and would put his head down to try and get away from the riders behind him. He won the LCQ in convincing fashion and would take the extra track time as an advantage go- ing into the Main. Unfortunately, Kyle didn’t get the best gate pick and would start almost all the way on the outside. Although he got a terrible start, Kyle was able to avoid the downed riders in the first section. Unfortunately with 10 laps to go, Kyle was having problems with his hand and had to pull of the track. He was scored with a 19th overall in Toronto.
