It has been a rough year for the Grand Terrace, California native in Blake Baggett. Crashes and injuries have done their toll and derailed Baggett’s sophomore season. The Factory Yoshimura Suzuki rider made a good impression in his rookie 450 season last year notching a handful of top 5s and he only
finished outside the top 10 four times throughout the season. We were looking for more of the same this year but he has only been able to line it up in just two main events this season. And with Stewart going down with his fair share of injuries as well this year, the entire team has had a dismal year. But Baggett was finally able to return and get through the night unscathed at Daytona finishing with a 13th place. It was not the result he was looking for but it was significant nonetheless. It was a stepping-stone on his quest to salvage the season and finish out strong. Look for Baggett to only get stronger from this point forward.
