>> Milan, Tennessee’s Alex Ray continued his quest to qualify for 450 Supercross main events this weekend in Ar- lington. He qualified 21st in the morning timed sessions while battling the ever-evolving track. Ray would then get a subpar start in his heat which meant he was stuck battling with the pack on the opening laps. He would go on to improve his position from 12th on the opening laps to 9th by race end
but would head to the semi. He would make up for his early struggles by turning out a good performance in the semi. He got off to a decent start but was outside of the top 5 on the opening lap. He worked his way into 8th place by the 3rd lap and settled in waiting for his opportunity to make a move on Weimer. He then benefitted from Kiesel and Weimer’s pile up and moved into a qualifying spot, which is where he would finish the race. After a solid 5th in the semi, things were look- ing up for the number 314 as he moved on to the main. Ray would begin the main just outside of the top 15 in 16th place sandwiched between Mike Alessi and Jimmy Albertson. By the half way mark Ray had held his ground in 16th and was losing ground on Millsaps in 15th. After suffering an unknown problem Ray faded back to 20th for the remainder of the race where he would eventually finish.
