450 SX / TEXAS

>> Just to put it out there Davi Millsaps is one bad dude. It seems like every year out of all the top riders the #18 gets overlooked. The guy has finished runner up in the 450 SX series multiple times and even held a points lead over Ryan Villopoto in 2013. Regrettably Millsaps has had his fair share of hardship with loosing deals with major factory teams, to having no ride. Davi was forced to make a privateer effort before striking a deal with the BTO Sports KTM team a year ago. Even with the credentials of Millsaps the deal might not have happened if
he wasn’t friends with the team manager. The deal was a Supercross only contract. It also stated that Davi was to head north to Canada to compete in the CMRC national circuit in hopes that Millsaps would get KTM a MX1 national championship. At the end of the 2016 CMRC series Davi had the title in hand and was ready to return to the AMA.
So far this 2017 season Davi is sitting 6th in the series, just two points behind Jason Anderson for 5th. The #18 has yet to finish outside of the top ten with his worst finish being a 9th at round 3.
Like a fine wine Davi is seems to be getting better with age. This weekend at round 6 the #18 qualified for the main event directly out of his heat race like he has done many times this year. After the opening laps of the main event Davi was in last place and it looked like his top 10 streak was going to be broken. The RMATVMC KTM /WPS rider showed that he has a lot of fight in him, by the midway point he was in 13th. Davi continued to push forward for the entire 20 minutes +1 lap main event and was able to finish an impressive 8th. If it wasn’t for a disappointing first lap the #18 could’ve been a podium threat.
