KYLE CHISHOLM
250 SX / TEXAS
IMAGE / LANNAN WORDS / MATTINGLY DESIGN / WILSON
>> This sport is a game of peaks and valleys, with a rider truly hitting the summit of his career one moment, and being pummeled into the earth the next. And unfortunately, Kyle Chisholm has been a recipient of this circumstance time and time again. Winning numerous races and champi- onships throughout his career of both amateur and professionalism, each high has been glimmer of satisfaction, with a harsh reality of injury or loss coming sometime there after; but through it all he’s remained humble, and his perseverance through the good and bad is nothing short of ap- plaud worthy, as he forecasts an image to teams, fans, and competitors alike, that he’s willing to capture his dreams at all costs. Dallas a was a critical event in terms of his momentum, something he needed to carry into the break if he was willing to gather a positive points standing by se- ries end. And his performance was noteworthy, albeit all of the variables the Texas atmosphere was throwing at him. Mistake after mistake, riders crashing down in front of him, yellow flags upon yellow flags, each time he would get the ball rolling, another wall of barricade would be placed in front, forcing him to plow through it, or remain dwelling upon his circum- stances. The laps continued to trickle, but he continued to fight nonethe- less. Skating around that red clay, he was riding the bike a gear tall, not to let the RPM’s increase too much, attracting more wheel spin and an- other loss of time on the timing and scoring sheet; a veteran esque move (among many others) allowed him to propel positive positions, although he was still buried in the field. Although it doesn’t have the purse money of the 450 field, Chisholm is bringing home solid results against the younger crowd, with Dallas being no different; timing and scoring would have him at the edge of the top ten, padding his stat sheet yet again.
