One things for sure, Southwick clearly didn’t sit well with Roczen as the #94 bolted out to a 3rd in the start of moto one behind Tomac and Barcia. With Tomac getting around Barcia in the 2nd turn, Kenny was instantly thrusted into applying the pressure on Bam-Bam with intensity. Failing to cease the right wrist twist, Roczen began crawling his way towards the Colorado cowboy. Eventually, about ten minutes into the race, Tomac bobbled in a switchback section, missing the inside line and therefore
required to roll around the outside. With only a second to react, Roczen makes a relatively easy move to the inside and boom, the race is on. In the moments that followed, Roczen laid down the law and left Tomac to find his own lines back in 2nd. By the halfway point, Roczen had put a blistering six second gap over the green machine of Eli and was only moving for- ward. The bikes continued to click off the laps and throughout the second half of the race, Roczen had a few laps that seemed to allow Tomac to have more hope but Ken used every cubic centimeter, regaining the dominance he had lost last weekend.
