Submerged within the field as the pack crashed to into turn number one, Charboneau was in 35th in the opening moments of the first moto. Trying to rekindle the spark he once displayed at the opening round
of Hangtown, the rookie began to shift through the gearbox and garner every position he possibly could. Tearoffs being ripped at a rapid pace, sand being blown into the mouthpiece, and sweat dampening the foam of his goggles, Tristan was forced to play the hand he was dealt. With all of the adversity he was faced with, the young man surmounted a charge back to 21st, one position shy of earning points. A near 20th place start for moto two found himself battling alongside fellow rookie counterpart, Austin Forkner. The sands of Spring Creek just didn’t seem to couple well with the Pacific Coast native, as he struggled to find adequate rhythm throughout the course of the day. As each lap past, the bumps began to grow bigger, both literally and figuratively, with Tristan slopping and feeling the repercussions of the treacherous terrain. He would go on to finish 20th position, and 22nd overall.
