Although “Mad Max” comes from a heavily influenced motocross back- ground, the young man has stepped out of the shadows of his last name, and truly made an identity for himself. It’s as though with each passing year, he continues to work his way up the pecking order, checking off races and accomplishments with subtle effort. He’s a naturally talented rider, display- ing his talents in pretty much every B class the Cal classic had to offer. And besides one, eleventh place moto fin- ish, he had fourteen outings inside the top ten. That should speak for itself, as he did it in arguably some of the most competitive classes out there. With the crest of his overall finishes coming with a second and third, in both 250 and 450 B Limited classes, he’s hungrier than ever to perform with the best in his class. If he continues to couple hard work, with the amount of natural talent he possesses, all who watch could be in for a real treat.
TAIGAN ANDREWS
Although smaller in stature, Taigan Andrews has as much determina-
tion and desire as any rider out there, regardless of age. Competing in as many 50cc divisions as he can, the Texas resident searches far and wide for adequate competition to race against. He found it this year at the JS7 Freestone Amateur Championship, but still could be found thriving in the midst of the nation’s fastest youngsters. His third overall at the end of the event, had him gleaming with joy, but more ready than ever, to add even larger trophies to his mantle. He’s a true joy to watch on the track, displaying style and speed that’s well beyond his years. With tech- nique mimicking that of the best guys on television, he’s been taught well, and continues to work hard every time he’s aboard the motorcycle. Many are excited to see what Mr. Andrews has in store for years to come, and he looks to be well on his way to a path of success.
