LANDIN PEPPERD
Landin Pepperd is no stranger to harsh climates, and grueling conditions. Call-
ing Wasilla, Alaska home, he’s seen it all
in terms of frigid temperatures and soil compositions, so coming to sunny California for the Cal Classic seemed to be a place
of safe haven for him. He basked in the sun, knowing that sunny and seventy-five degrees, were a walk in the park, compared to what he was used to back home. And after looking at his results sheet, once the final race concluded, many were amazed
at the statistic they uncovered. This young man signed up for fifteen separate moto’s, and never once placed outside the top ten! Talk about consistency, that trait right there shows more veteran and professionalism, than almost any other result of the week. He would walk away with highlighted finishes
of two fourth overalls, in the 65cc (10-11) and 85cc (9-11) Limited divisions. Pepperd is never one to shy away from competition, and as his resume becomes more and more elite, watch out for the amount of champion- ships he will add in the near future.
JARRETT FRYE
We all know how synonymous
the name of Frye is with amateur motocross, and the Maryland region (think Alex Frye, just a few short years ago); yet there’s another competitor with the last name, look- ing to carry the torch from here on out. He goes by the name of Jarrett Frye, and he’s set the national tour ablaze, in particular, the Cal Clas- sic a few short weeks ago. Placing himself in multiple B class divi- sions, as well as Schoolboy 2, he seemed to really shine in the larger engine classes. Although a sixth in Schoolboy 2 was an awesome ac- complishment in itself, he looked to really do damage in the 450 B, and Open B settings. It was here, where he had six finishes in the top three, and two second overalls, with a highlighted moto win as well. Frye is no stranger to success, and he will look to keep the ball rolling, as he takes off into his latter amateur, and professional career here soon.
