LEVI NEWBY
Although Whitehall, Montana, doesn’t seem to be an ideal place for motocross training utopia, Levi Newby has certainly made it work over the years. Taking a bit of an unconventional route to success, Newby came up through the C class divisions, and won on the brightest of stages, at the Loretta Lynn’s AMA Ama- teur National Championship. Rather than getting complacent, and relishing in his victory at the ranch, he advanced divisions and went toe to toe with the best the B class offered. He would
excel there as well; always in the front at any national he chose to compete at. For 2018, he’s decided to stay in the B and Schoolboy classes for another go around, in somewhat new territory. As he’s used to constantly racing different competition, we are very curious to see just how much damage he can inflict on this stacked class, now that he’s actu- ally familiar and comfortable.
MASON GONZALES
To many, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, seems like a place of utter tranquility and relaxation. Quiet, peaceful beaches, overcome by the sound of soothing waves crashing against the shore; to many, it just can’t get much better. However be careful, as any more, you’re more than likely to hear a beast of both 250 and 450 machines, ripping through the rural areas. And that my friends, would be the sound of Mason Gonzales, and his act of mind-blowing antics aboard the mo- torcycle. True speed, coupled with a technique as clean as they come, has landed him atop the pinnacle of the sport; winning a championship in the Schoolboy 1 class last year at the Loretta Lynn’s. He’s backed up his performance in August, with solid finishes all throughout the re- spective nationals up until this point of 2018. Gonzales is a problem for anyone in the division, and he looks to prove that, from this point on in his star-studded career.
