ZANE MERRETT
When looking at prospects to make their soon-to-be professional debut, you come across the name of Zane Merrett quite often on the results sheet. A threat since the inception of his motocross career, Merrett has truly began to turn
the dial up in recent years, boil-
ing on the temperature gauge of “hot” prospects. A definite highlight would occur last year at the 2017, Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National Championships, where Zane persevered through three grueling motos, and walked away with a second overall finish. He’s proven that he has what it takes, at one of, if not the most stressful event of the year; and now all he has left to do, is repeat the performance, and he should be well on his way to a promising professional debut. He has all the tools needed to do so.
AUSTIN CAMDEN
Austin Camden had the FMF Cal Classic event circled on his calen- dar for months, eyeing to make an impact as big as they come. Each week, leading up to the illustrious championship. Camden repeated the process of dialing in his starts, corners, and stamina. He felt he was as prepared as he could be, and his results would eventually speak to that notion. In every 65cc class he could enter, the number 191 was one of the first to come around. Nine times he stepped up, behind the launch pad; and eight
of the nine, he would come away inside the top ten. Even against the older, stiffer competition. He was clicking on all components of his game, generating finishes of second (three times), third, fourth, and fifth, to accumulate for a pair of third overalls, as well as an eighth in the open division. Camden proved to every one of his classmates, that he simply has no fear, and is willing to risk it all, to prove he’s a contender.
