At the 2015 Mini Olympics during Supercross, 450 Pro Sport was the Bradley Taft show. The Horton Racing Yamaha recruit has some serious talent and he showed those goods each time the gate dropped on the Yamaha 450 stealing the heat race win and a convincing main event win. Taft took the top spot in what is one of the deepest pools in years. With perfect moto scores, Taft removed all doubt that he is a key player in this A class expert amateur game. Taft managed to put himself on the podium outdoors as well, grabbing a pair of third place overall finishes to cap his week in Florida. Yamaha’s Bradley Taft has been the man to beat this week on 450’s. The new Horton Yamaha recruit has been rallying to take Yamaha and Horton to the next level. Taft’s efforts have been greatly rewarded as well as he has seen the front of the pack quite a bit lately. Hashing it out with the rest of the future pro’s, Bradley was able to navigate his way into the lead and earn himself a big win in the 450 Pro Sport class. Taft accredited his win in part to the amazing handling and power of the new Yamaha YZ450f which has lead he and many before him to a slew of victories along the way.
Winning a national title is no small task, much less winning one in two separate disciplines of racing.
However, for Brock Papi that was just another week at the office in Gatorback. The Schoolboy class assassin took four moto wins and three additional podiums throughout the week on his Horton Racing backed Yamaha. Papi’s first strike of success came in the Schoolboy 1 (12-16) B/C class. After a strong qualifying effort, Papi made it happen in the main event greasing his way to his first title of the event. As things moved over to the outdoor track, Brock was firing on all cylinders and making his mark on the class once again. Papi was gunning for perfection and that’s just what he got, 1-1 moto scores and his second AMA Major Event Title. As the Clermont, Florida local continues to progress through the ranks at a rapid pace, expect big things as the gates start to drop in 2016.
