>> Rookie to the 450 class this 2017 season, Martin Davalos has been improving each weekend. Getting his first top ten in the second moto last weekend, the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider is getting stron-
ger on each weekend on the 450. Battling tough Thunder Valley track conditions all morning, Davalos secured himself a fifth-place qualify-
ing position. Launching out of the gate for moto one, Davalos secured himself the holeshot. Hanging onto the lead for only a minute, he made a mistake that caused him to go down before the first lap was even over. Falling all the way back to 9th he had some ground to make up to get back to the front. Fighting off some heavy competition he was able to move back up into 7th by the third lap. A small bobble left a window open for two riders to pass him back leaving him back in 9th. Going back and forth for the last few laps, Davalos finished off moto one in 10th place. After his successful jump out of the gate, Davalos was look- ing to repeat the start without the crash on the first lap for moto two. But things didn’t play out as planned and the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider was back in 18th around the first turn. With a lot of ground to cover to get back up to the top ten Davalos was on rails working his way for- ward. Charging through the deep ruts like its easy, Davalos was quickly soaring forward moving up to 13th by the second lap. As the time ran out he was able to move forward two more positions up to 11th where he finished up moto two. Going 10-11 for the day he grabbed himself a 10th overall for round three of the outdoor nationals.
