>> Josh Grant has had an incredible season so far and it has only been three rounds. Wowing everyone at round one leading some of the moto’s and getting himself his first podium in a while. Dealing with some bad luck at Glen Helen, Grant has some points to make up heading into Colorado. Recovering from the frustrations of last weekend the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider cleared his head and rode some solid laps in practice laying down the 7th fastest lap time head- ing into the moto’s. Bad luck struck again for Josh Grant going down in the first turn of the first moto taking out some other riders in the process. He raced to
get back on the bike, but was having some issues getting there. Whatever the problem was, it left him sidelined the rest of the moto, even after attempting to try to gain back the lost positions. Leaving him with a 38th place finish and huge chunk of points gone. Recovering from the first moto drama, Grant lined up for moto 2 as if nothing had happened. Getting a much better start this time, the Kawasaki rider was up in 8th around the first turn. Gaining a position, the next lap, Grant was charging hard to get up to those podium positions. A few more laps into the race he caught Brock Tickle and Justin Barcia passing them both
in the same lap moving into 5th place. Now only two spots shy of 3rd, Grant
was really working to get up there knowing here has a lot of points to make up for after what happened in moto one. Shortly after he gained another position when Jason Anderson made a mistake pushing him up to 4th place. Focused
on chasing down the riders in front of him, the competition was doing the same thing behind him. Before he knew it the 450-class rookie, Cooper Webb, was on his tail. Riding wide to make the pass difficult for the young rider, Grant wasn’t able to fend him off falling back a spot into 5th. Staying consistent the rest of the moto, the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider rounded out the top 5 in moto two. Going 38-5 for the day due to some unforeseen circumstances in moto one Josh Grant finished round three off with a 13th overall finish, sending him back even further in the points chase.
